As an internationally recognised company, Newcrest can be the target of unscrupulous individuals and/or groups.
This typically this takes the form of online fraud where organisations or individuals falsely claim to be representing Newcrest in relation to employment opportunities.
This type of fraud may include emails, text messages, facsimile transmissions or letters that result in identity theft, hacking, phishing or even financial extortion and theft.
We encourage all individuals interested in careers with Newcrest to be aware of good online practices to avoid vigilant to fraudulent activity.

Please do not send money or pass any personal details to anyone suggesting they can provide employment with Newcrest.

If you receive an unexpected communication or email regarding potential employment, or an invitation to submit applications and you’re are unsure as to its validity, here are some points to consider.
- If a third party (Eg. Recruitment Agency) approaches you claiming to be acting on Newcrest’s behalf and you are unsure as to the validity, ask for the name of their HR Contact at Newcrest and contact us directly to confirm.
- No up-front payments of any kind will ever be requested by Newcrest or our authorised agents as part of a recruitment process. This includes immigration documents, fees, airline fees, travel insurance or any other purpose relating to an employment opportunity.
- Newcrest will never make a job offer without performing a formal interview process.
- Prospective employees are always invited to an interview with Newcrest personnel before any offer of employment is made.
- Newcrest will not initiate any immigration process until a verified offer of employment is extended to and accepted by the candidate.
Newcrest strongly urges all prospective candidates to check carefully before clicking on or replying to any communications that may look suspicious.
