Community Support Fund
Australia
The CSF in Australia supported 21 projects supporting communities around the Cadia and Telfer sites, as well as in Melbourne.
Parnngurr and Punmu Community Schools
In preparation for long-distance education enforced by COVID-19 outbreaks, iPads were donated to the Parnngurr and Pumnu Community Schools, respectively 218kms south and 139kms east of Newcrest’s Telfer operations.
The provision of the iPads allowed the students to access technology both on country and on-site at school to support the preservation of the Manyjilyjarra language.
It also provided education on the impact of COVID-19 and ways to mitigate the impact of the virus if it entered the community.
Beyond the Curve
The Beyond the Curve program in Orange was designed to assist local businesses financially impacted by the pandemic. Run by the Central NSW Business HQ with support from the local Chamber of Commerce, support was provided to small businesses through the provision of grants ensuring business continuity through lockdown periods.
Restart and recovery grants were offered, with 78 small grants provided to businesses through the restart program and 46 large grants provided through the recovery program.

Mission House
In Melbourne, the Mission House initiative was delivered in partnership with Anglicare.
Support to Mission House was designed to increase emergency relief and welfare support services needed for the individuals and families impacted by COVID-19.
Despite lockdowns, Mission House was able to provide support to those in need with the delivery of services and emergency relief.
Newcrest’s donation enabled Anglicare to grow and develop its services by employing a financial counsellor and wellness worker.
